While CanDo is working to improve our food and physical activity environments at the community level, there are steps you can take to ensure that your home environment is conducive to making healthy choices. Use the following audits from America on the Move to assess your home and learn ways to improve your personal environment:

Tip: When eating out, ask the waiter for a to-go box when you order. Before you begin eating, put ½ your food in the to-go box so you’re not as tempted to overeat.

Tip: Take short activity breaks throughout the day. Even if you’re planning to do your “workout” later in the day, it’s important to move your body every 1 to 2 hours.

Tip: Trim down your “to do” list. Separate tasks into “need to do” and “nice to do” and then focus only on what is really necessary for the amount of time you have.
